Born in the Bronx, New York, Alfonso Bui began drawing his own cartoons at the age of thirteen, using Macromedia Flash 5.
At the age of twenty-one, Bui shot his first educational documentary film “Some Place I Call Home – Racial Tensions in Higher Education” which was screened throughout college campuses in the Northeast. After graduating from Trinity College (Hartford, CT) he completed an internship at Blowback Productions (New York), working on the Sundance series “Brick City” and the HBO documentary “Schmatta.”
Bui currently spends his time in New York City working on short films and urban and fashion photography.
